Freakalytics has published to Amazon, Android and iPhone a new quick reference for building better graphs and dashboards. Note that the iPhone and Android apps are now released: search for “Rapid Dashboards” on the iPhone (click here to open it in App Store web site) and “Rapid Graphs and Dashboards” on the Android application stores (click here to go to it in the Android Market web site.)
The Amazon version, “Rapid Dashboards Reference Card”, has all 64 tips readily available on four full-color, laminated pages. The card serves as a handy reference for yourself, your team and even your business audience during design meetings.

there is no link to the android version,a nd the version on the market, rapid graphs and dashboards, doesn’t work any longer. It worked excellently….until recently. It points to dead links now apparently.
Hi Damon,
I apologize for the frustrating experience. I tested this recently on a friend’s Android device, from the ground up and it worked.
Unfortunately, I don’t have an Android device in the office for testing. So, I have forwarded your issue to the hosting provider for our app with their Highest priority. I will advise you once we hear back from them.
Thanks for your feedback and your patience.
Best regards,
Stephen
I just tried out the Android version, it still doesn’t work. Here’s some info…
When it opens, you get an error message on a browser page that says,
“Webpage not available
The webpage at file://data/data/com/freakalyticsrapiddbc/files/Freaky/FreakalyticsRapidDBCAndroid/tab1.html might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new address.”
Clicking the other tabs across the top of the app gets the same error except for the “tab1.html” part, which changes to tab2, tab3, or tab4.
Seems like the website the app pulls data from is down.
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
We appear to have narrowed it down (after much testing with some of our friends and training attendees) to the new Android “Ice Cream Sandwich” release (we were told this was a major release/change in Android land.) Everyone else was able to use the app, with and without reinstalling it. We are passing this along to our hosting provider.
At the moment, we have no ETA for a fix. But will share once it appears corrected.
All the best,
Stephen
Doesn’t seem to exist in iTunes. I followed links as well as searched for Rapid Dashboards…, Freakalytics, and Stephen McDaniel of which none worked. I purchased the laminated version through Amazon as well as the Kindle version of the latest book. That said, an e-copy of the reference cards would be nice.
Do you offer any discounts on the laminated cards for “bulk” purchases (10-20)? My company just rolled out Tableau and this would be a great tool for all of the new users as we learn how to utilize the software. Thanks, Chad
Sorry, due to confusing contracts and multiple systems to “renew” the app came down for a while. It is now available once again! Enjoy.
I get “webpage not available” message.
I have already downloaded the app.
Hi Raja,
Can you please share more details about your phone OS and version? We’ve mainly seen issues with Android due to the many “flavors” of OS/version and manufacturer custom “branches” in the OS. As a small company of two authors and data enthusiasts, we have a limited set of tools to test across the many systems on Android, so we have seen around 90% compatability there, which is why it is still free on Android.
Thanks,
Stephen
Enjoyed your presentation last night at DAMA. You both did a dynamic job communicating a challenging topic through an exciting dialog.
I have devoured all of your books!
Thanks again
